We get called to a lot of homes in Wigmore where the owners have been getting by with extension leads because there simply are not enough sockets in the right places. We visited one recently where the living room had a single double socket feeding a TV unit, a games console, a soundbar, and a lamp through a block adaptor. We added two new double sockets on the opposite wall, routing the cable under the floorboards without disturbing the carpet, and chased clean back boxes into the plaster keeping the damage to a minimum. The room looked like it had always been wired that way when we were done.
I am George, I run Eru Electrics Ltd, and I am a NICEIC registered electrician with 25 years of experience. I am also a Which? Trusted Trader. We cover Wigmore and the surrounding area including Gillingham, Hempstead, and Rainham.
Wigmore is largely residential with a lot of semis and detached houses that were built from the 1960s onwards. The wiring in many of them has never been properly updated. Old rewirable fuseboxes are still common, and we regularly find pendant fittings and switches that are original to the house. None of that is unusual for the area but it is worth keeping an eye on.
The price we quote is the price you pay, we arrive when we say we will, every call is answered by my PA, and we tidy up before we leave.
NICEIC registered and Which? Trusted Trader accredited. 200+ reviews.
Pricing from £90 excluding VAT.
Can you add sockets without damaging my floors or walls?
That is exactly how we approach it. We lift floorboards carefully, run cables underneath, and keep any wall chasing as narrow as possible. We tidy everything up before we leave.
My fusebox has rewirable fuses rather than switches. Does it need replacing?
Almost certainly yes. Those units offer no RCD protection, which means they will not cut out fast enough in a fault. A replacement takes one day and comes with full NICEIC certification.
Do you install CCTV in residential properties?
Yes. We install wired Hikvision systems with remote viewing from your phone, HD footage, and colour night vision. Wired systems are more reliable than wireless and not dependent on your broadband signal.
How quickly can you get to Wigmore?
Within the week for most jobs. Call and my PA will confirm a time that suits you.
Are you qualified to certify the work?
Yes. All notifiable work is registered under our NICEIC registration. You receive paperwork on completion.
If you are working around an electrical issue and putting off getting it sorted, call and I will give you a straight answer on what is involved. No obligation.
