electrician in sittingbourne

This is the 2nd part of the 9 Things To Ask An Electrician Before Hiring Them. You can read/listen part 1 here

  1. Communication Style

A good electrician should communicate technical information in understandable terms, avoiding excessive jargon. Overusing technical jargon can confuse and, at times, the electrician may looking to do this on purpose so they can charge for unnecessary works.

I always try to explain more complicated electrical terms using layman’s terms to make sure my clients have the best possible understanding of what I am planning to do or already did.

  2. Visibility

Another key indicator to observe when an electrician comes to your house to quote is whether they wear branded clothing and if they drive a branded van. This helps to identify their affiliation and provides reassurance about their credibility.

An electrician that wants everyone to know who are they will also be someone who takes price to their work and cares deeply about their reputation and a local electrician.

Happy to show some ID if requested is also a plus. It’s not something people ask me often but my driving license is always in my pocket should I need to prove who I am.

It’s been a while when I visited a new client for some electrical repairs. As they were meeting me for the first time, they asked to see some ID along with my branded clothing and van they fell safe and confident to allow me into their home.

  3. Personal hygiene

This is something I make sure everyone that ever worked with me pays special attention to it. OK, I get it, as electricians we can’t be dust free and clean all through the day but I believe we still need to keep ourselves as clean as possible.

How confident you can be that your home will get the respect it deserves by a smelly and unreasonably dirty electrician?     Even after a rewire I make sure I clean my face, hands and remove as much dust I can from my clothes if I need to visit another of my clients at the same day, and even have a clean polo shirt and deodorant in the van.

  4. Locality

With every new client I get, for me is a relationship I would like to build for the years to come. Many of my clients keep calling me back for more work and recommending me to their families and friends. This is why I try to keep my working area fairly local.

This gives the peace of mind to my clients that I’m not a passer by from 100 miles away that after I finish the job they won’t see me again or it will take far too long to attend their property if something goes wrong.

Some of the jobs I do are a little further and in this case I make sure I recommend another trusted electrician closer to them. Something else that your electrician is good to have in place!

    And a Bonus one

  5. Written quotes

Having a written and detailed quote from your Kent electrician you can make sure you will get the service you have agreed, paying the amount you have agreed, which shouldn't change unless the job specifications change.

Other than my minimum charge jobs, everyone else gets a written and detailed quote withing 48 hours

All the above are things I make sure my business has in place. So, if you are looking for an electrician in Medway, Sittingbourne, Maidstone and Gravesend why not dropping in us a message by clicking here
